Regatta Capital Group is an independent Registered Investment Advisory firm that provides fiduciary wealth management advice to families, business owners, group 401(k) plans and endowments. The 17-person firm manages more than $1.2 billion in assets for clients locally and across the country, as of May 15, 2024. The four managing partners, Russell Mohberg, Spencer Kelly, Nick Ozer and Britt Joyce, have more than 70 years of combined industry experience. Regatta Ventures was founded with the goal of providing clients access to world-class entrepreneurs building high-growth, innovative businesses across technology and consumer sectors. The firm manages two funds primarily focused on seed and Series A investment rounds.

How do you help clients with multigenerational planning? 

We are passionate about retirement planning, but if you want to really see a client’s eyes light up, ask them about their kids. Along with our seven kids photographed here, our Regatta team has a total of 26 kids, as well as our spouses and partners who often join us for our Regatta hikes and holiday parties. As part of our financial planning process, we spend a lot of time talking to our clients about their families, kids and grandkids. We often work with multiple generations and are currently working with four living generations of one family.

What sets your firm apart? 

Sometimes it’s just our proximity to Randy’s Donuts and Philz Coffee, but most often it’s our competence, sincerity and diligence. Our clients love that they can reach us quickly and enjoy the close working relationship with our entire team. Each Regatta team member shares the same core values of hard work, honesty, integrity and a commitment to the client.

Describe your thought process around portfolio construction.

We are unabashed in our commitment to finding the best possible solutions for our clients and their money. We believe in owning great companies for the long term but have also fully embraced alternatives and private real estate. Regatta Ventures takes a value-oriented, price-disciplined strategy to building portfolios. For example, we recently invested in Avoli, which makes a groundbreaking women’s indoor volleyball shoe.
