Beach Life Fitness Boutique is an inclusive, friendly fitness studio across the street from the Redondo Pier that offers Pilates reformer and mat, mini trampoline cardio, yoga, barre, sound bath, circuit training, mobility and prenatal/postpartum classes, plus dance lessons for adults and children, fitness parties, localized cryotherapy, massage, facials and beauty treatments, endermologie, rolfing, Mommy and Me, and toddler music classes. Owner Danielle Spangler studied kinesiology and exercise physiology in college and has worked in the fitness industry for more than 30 years. She opened Beach Life in 2019.

In what ways do you stand out in your market?

Our studio is not your “typical” Pilates studio. We are so much more! We have a ton of other styles of classes and services to appeal to everyone. Our “fitness that feels good” approach—coupled with our expertise in working with beginners, injuries, prenatal/postpartum and menopausal clients—sets us apart.

What are the latest trends in your industry that you’re loving?

Fitness trends are more customized now. There is a more holistic approach to being healthy and fit. Not only do we offer the trendiest workouts like Pilates reformer and rebounding, but Beach Life Fitness Boutique is also a certified medical fitness business. This means that in addition to fitness services, we also feature other important pieces of the health journey, like having a physical therapist and registered dietitian on our team.

Tell us about your team.

The South Bay community means so much to us. We feel so grateful for the women-owned businesses we have partnered with. Our intention is to bring more health-focused businesses to Redondo Beach that prioritize women’s health and wellness. The Beach Life Fitness team has become like a small family and has grown to a 16-woman team of the best fitness professionals. The original team includes Danielle Spangler (owner/instructor), Kelsi Knudsen (trainer/instructor), Allison Heillman (trainer/instructor), Manuela Diethelm (trainer/instructor), Payton Cahalan-Blumenfeld (trainer/instructor/studio manager) and Alyssa Crawford (director of the Beach Mom program). Each of these women holds degrees in kinesiology or human physiology and multiple certifications in group fitness, Pilates and private training. Most importantly, we are truly empathetic, caring fitness professionals who bring the most to our clients and classes.
