Aly Pedersen

The Inspired Palate is a full-service catering and events company based in Los Angeles. Executive chef and owner Aly Pedersen graduated from The New School of Cooking in Culver City and later moved into the catering and events industry. She furthered her culinary education by studying in Italy. Chef Aly established The Inspired Palate in 2015.

I credit my professional success to my incredible clients. Each event they entrust me with is unique—offering new challenges and opportunities to learn and grow. Their diverse needs and high expectations have pushed me to continually adapt and refine my skills, ensuring that I curate a top-notch experience every time. Without their trust and collaboration, I wouldn’t be where I am.

As a full-service catering company, my team and I provide not only the food but professional staff, including chefs, servers and bartenders, to ensure every detail is expertly handled. We specialize in creating beautiful charcuterie tables and food displays that are both visually stunning and delicious—perfect for entertaining guests! We work with our clients to procure a menu and style of service that works best to complement their event. We also offer bar services with signature cocktails that are unique and refreshing. Additionally, we provide a full range of holiday menus that bring warmth and elegance to your table, making every occasion truly special with more time to spend with family and friends.

My dream client has a vision and trusts me to be the artist who brings their gathering to life. Whether it’s a family graduation that reunites loved ones, a corporate team-building event to inspire future success or a luxurious intimate dinner among friends, I thrive on creating memorable experiences. My clients’ confidence in me makes their special moments unforgettable.

In what ways does your business stand out?

We create a personal and intimate atmosphere at events, whether they are large celebrations or small gatherings. We pride ourselves on collaborating closely with other event professionals, including party planners and venue managers, to ensure every detail contributes to the perfect experience for guests. This commitment to teamwork and tailored service is what sets us apart in the market.

What struggles have you faced at work? 

Overworking and not asking for help when needed. I’ve learned that my team is there to support me and jump in if necessary. I now delegate more effectively so that together we can accomplish my professional ambitions. My advice to other women facing similar challenges is simple: Don’t be afraid to ask for help, and take more time for self-care! It’s not a sign of weakness but a necessary step toward achieving your goals successfully.

Tell us about your industry’s current trends.

There are so many fun trends right now! Fine dining experiences are becoming more creative and immersive, and dishes are designed to be multisensory adventures. I appreciate how local restaurants are merging California cuisine with international flavors, elevating traditional dishes with a focus on high-quality, locally sourced ingredients and global flavors. These trends are redefining luxury dining in a way that caters to discerning clients.

Our team is composed of compassionate and hardworking individuals who bring a positive and light atmosphere to all of our catered experiences. We thrive on open communication and maintain a high level of professional conduct in everything we do. This dedication ensures that every event we cater is executed flawlessly, leaving our clients and their guests with lasting memories.

What are you doing when you’re off work?

I love spending time with my rescue pugs and foster pugs. It brings me so much joy! I also love spending time with my husband on a getaway in the mountains or the desert. Soaking up the beautiful South Bay weather with a day by the pool while sharing laughs with friends is also a must. It’s those moments of relaxation and connection that remind me what life is all about!

How has the South Bay community contributed to your business?

Community is the heart of my business. Our client base is mainly built on word-of-mouth referrals from my amazing clients who share their experiences with their communities and by default expand my community. The unwavering support from my friends and family who have stood by me since the beginning has been invaluable. Community is what drives us and allows us to continue creating memorable experiences for our clients.

What is your current passion project?

We are excited about the new projects we are working! Our new sub-brand, LUXE by The Inspired Palate, will present a Michelin-star experience at your dining table. I can’t wait to be at the forefront of creating some of the most beautiful and unforgettable culinary setups the South Bay has ever seen.
