One moment in time can change the trajectory of your life. Having a proper plan in place and a team of experts ready to help with major life changes can make a world of difference. The support of people who have experience with transitions is a key advantage.

“Being a financial advisor is much more than just managing money,” explains Tania Kvakic, head of RBC Sports Professionals Leadership Council at global investment advisory firm RBC Wealth Management. “You’re managing all aspects of a client’s life. Athletes in particular are CEOs of themselves and their brand. Whether they’re signing a playing contract, moving in with a significant other or starting a new venture, their business is their life. So we’re there every step of the way, planning for the unforeseen.”

With more than 16 years of industry experience, Tania provides a high level of service that meets and often exceeds clients’ expectations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international business management and a master’s degree in personal financial planning. She is designated as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM, Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM and Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM. Tania works with international families, expats, athletes and entertainment professionals, addressing the unique challenges that they face.

A Personal Touch

“The key to having a personal touch with all my clients is getting to know them and what they want before we can decide on the best path for them,” Tania shares. “I do not approach every client the same way, as they all have different goals objectives, and ideas on how they want their future to unfold.”

As a member of the RBC Sports Professionals division, she is part of a team that helps more than 1,100 current and retired professional athletes define their success through planning, education and preparation. Their four-pillar model focuses on financial literacy, post-career planning, strategic philanthropy and mental health.

“Being a financial advisor is much more than just managing money.”

“I’m dedicated to helping my clients and their families achieve their goals, understand their finances and define their legacies,” she says. “We firmly believe in earning the right to manage our clients’ businesses and look at this as a lifetime relationship, not just during their playing careers.”

As a woman in business, Tania sees a shift taking place in her field. “The world of finance and sports has been disrupted significantly in the past five years,” she says. “The older generation is slowly moving on, paving the way for fresh new perspectives. Some amazing women are getting an opportunity to shine, and I want to keep breaking down doors for those coming up.”

In the Community

Outside the financial industry, Tania makes an impact on the community serving as a board member for the Arizona Coyotes Foundation and volunteering
with Naples Children & Education Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Boys & Girls Clubs and Make-A-Wish. She is passionate about traveling and experiencing new cultures. “I love to cook, so I always take a cooking lesson in a different country,” she says. “It allows me to integrate and learn more.”

Tania also loves live music and spending time at the beach and with loved ones. Her spontaneous personality prompts her to explore various passions. “My new hobby is gardening,” she says. “I’ve been having fun with planting roses and playing in my gardens.”

By her side in her garden and in her life is Bentley the Bernedoodle, who frequently walks with Tania on The Strand or accompanies her on adventures. “He has a very kind personality. Many people have said that he is even healing.”

Top of Game

Tania brings all of these experiences to the table in each client interaction, helping the families she works with build a foundation for a truly successful life. She stays up-to-date with continuing education and pursues additional designations—focusing on her goal to be at the top of her game as a financial advisor while helping clients be at the top of theirs. “I’m dedicated to helping you and your family on a path to fulfilling your highest aspirations so your wealth achieves the meaningful outcomes you’ve intended over the long run.”

She and her team view themselves as an extension of each client’s family. “We value the time that we get to spend with our clients and their families,” Tania says. “We take the time to listen to our clients and adapt our approach to them. It’s all about the client; it isn’t about us.”
