Describe the featured project.

This project is a vacation home for a former client—a very happy couple with four adult children, whom they hope will visit as frequently as possible. Having already designed their primary residence, a solid foundation of trust was firmly established, which is an invaluable asset in the design process. I regularly presented ideas that gently pushed their boundaries, and their consistent response was, “We trust you, Jamie. Let’s go for it!” The results have been nothing short of thrilling. 

Rather than maintaining the previous layout of a formal living and dining area far removed from the kitchen, I proposed a game room that would better serve their family’s needs. They embraced the idea, and the outcome has been a resounding success. Now the family enjoys meaningful time together—playing games and creating cherished memories that perfectly reflect their lifestyle. Tell us about your business.

Our design philosophy and approach is that every client is new and different from their neighbors. We do not adhere to one specific style that is “ours.” Instead, we achieve an understanding of who the clients are and what “their” style is—even when they can’t verbalize it themselves. We take that unique approach to design, and our business thrives because of it. Our design firm excels because we also prioritize making the entire process seamless and enjoyable for our clients. The results are not only jaw-dropping and custom-tailored, but the journey to achieving them is equally delightful.

How do you define success for a project?

A successful project begins with a clear alignment of expectations from the start regarding timelines, budgets, needs and desires. It remains successful through ongoing open dialogue about the design and transparent, responsive communication throughout the ordering and implementation phases. We’re especially proud of our custom client portal, which provides transparency and timely updates on lead times. We believe the process should be as stress-free as possible for both our clients and our team. 

Ultimately, the true measure of success is when clients not only return for future projects but also refer you to their closest friends. At that point, you know you’ve hit the mark. With 16 years of business under the Eden LA Interior Design name, we’re proud to say we hit that mark time and again.
