The mission of Beach Braces, owned by Dr. Patricia Panucci, is to serve patients with quality orthodontic care in a fun and friendly environment, where patients feel at home.
“We employ the latest technologies to educate our patients and specialize our treatment for each patient’s needs,” says Dr. Panucci. In practice for nearly nine years, she graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She completed her orthodontic residency at the University of Southern California and earned a master’s degree in craniofacial biology.
What would you like potential patients to know about you?
“When asked if I have kids, I reply, `several hundred–my patients are my kids.’ I enjoy becoming part of my patients’ families; I have attended their dance recitals, Little League games and musical performances.”
Was there a defining moment that guided you to your career?
“I think I was fated to be an orthodontist. I demonstrated an unusual interest in teeth from a very early age. My parents still talk about how, when I was young, I would enthusiastically brush my teeth several times a day. I have never had a cavity and do not have a single filling. However, I did wear braces three times!”
What is your area of specialty?
“Orthodontics for children and adults. My young patients enjoy choosing shapes for their braces and adorn them with many colors at each appointment. Adult patients appreciate the aesthetic options we use in our practice, including tooth-colored braces, lingual braces (behind the teeth) and clear aligners.”
What do you like to do for fun, when you’re not at work?
“I spend time outdoors with my husband, Charlie, and our two dogs. We enjoy traveling worldwide and experiencing new adventures.”
How do you give back to your community?
“We sponsor athletics in the local schools, and I enjoy participating as well. I run in my tie-dyed Beach Braces t-shirt at the Robinson Family Fun Run, Grandview Gator Run, Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair 10K and Redondo Beach Super Bowl 10K. I am an active member in the Rotary Club of Manhattan Beach, and I travel to Casa Hogar orphanage in Ensenada, Mexico to provide much needed dental care to the children and community.”
