The goal of Ageless Acupuncture and Herb Center is to provide quality, comprehensive, individualized and holistic natural healthcare to each patient through the use of acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Practitioner Angela Lai has a degree in chemistry from Pepperdine University and a background in cardiac research. She received her master’s degree in traditional Chinese medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, where she interned at the downtown senior clinic and UCSD RIMAC sports center. She has been practicing acupuncture for six years. Angela’s areas of specialty include: cancer support, orthopedics, women’s health, internal issues, stress relief and overall health.

How does Chinese medicine help your patients?

“Chinese medicine helps treat the whole body by helping the body work better through increasing circulation and decreasing inflammation. Chinese medicine is unique because it recognizes that we are not just physical beings, but we are made of mental, emotional and physical energies. When any one of those pieces is not healthy, we are not healthy.”

Does acupuncture really work?

“This is the most common question I hear from people. I had the same question when I was in school, and I can honestly say, `Yes, it works.’ I found this out by healing some of my own health issues. I utilize my science background to incorporate both Western and Eastern medicine in my practice. We treat the whole body, as opposed to only chasing symptoms, to help the patient achieve optimal health and to sustain it for the rest of his or her life.”
