Scotty’s Scooters Evolves Electric

If you’re looking for an economical way  to cruise around the South Bay (or if you   just want to reenact that famous Vespa scene from Roman Holiday), try a rental from Scotty’s Scooters. 

The Hermosa Beach staple offers a diverse assortment of fuel-efficient scooters to choose from, including several new Evolve electric scooters. Evolve (which is based in New York) boasts some of the highest ranges currently available for scooters—chiefly because of their unique lithium-ion batteries. The standard model has a range of around 50 miles, while the upgraded version can impressively travel more than 100 miles. Furthermore, the scooters are relatively simple to operate. 

“A gas scooter has over 1,000 moving parts,” says Connor Smith, director for Scotty’s Scooters. “The electric Evolve scooters, though, only have a couple.” With so few moving parts, Smith assures us that the eco-friendly scooters can be very reliable. In fact, the store is currently in the process of replacing most of its gas scooters with electric ones. For the novice rider, Scotty’s also offers scooter lessons, service and repair, and a diverse array of trendy scooter gear. Get your motor running.
