Ready … Set … 2012
Three Tips for Getting in Shape in the New Year!
1. Sweat it out together. Partner-based training has been shown to increase intensity by up to 40%! Higher intensity = higher fat loss. Working out with groups has been shown to increase pain tolerance, therefore increasing work intensity and volume. People just work harder when there is someone exercising next to them.
2. Focus on improving one small thing at a time. Studies show that if you tackle one goal/habit, you have a success rate of around 85%. Two goals and the success rate drops to 35%. Three goals and you have a success rate of less than 10%. Pick one thing to work on at a time, and your success rate will go up.
3. Change should be the only constant in your program. If you do eight reps this week, do nine next week. If you lifted 15 pounds today, shoot for 20 the next workout. If you walked 10 minutes today, try adding one more minute tomorrow. The key is CONSTANT improvement. Otherwise, you stagnate and you don’t make change.
