Associate broker Chris Plank is a local area expert with extensive knowledge of the Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and Palos Verdes communities. His objective is to work diligently to assist clients in meeting their real estate goals and to keep them informed on trends in the marketplace using the latest statistics in their local area. Chris is a lifelong Manhattan Beach resident and a full-time licensed real estate broker. Working in real estate since 1989, Chris co-manages the Highland Avenue office of Shorewood Realtors. What would you like potential clients to know about you? “I am honest, ethical and hardworking. Selling real estate is my life. I want clients to know that I’m on their side, representing their interests, to fulfill their goals.”

What does it take to be the best in the real estate business?
“Hard work, determination and a positive attitude! The real estate business is not easy. We don’t get a weekly paycheck or a 401k. You have to sell property to make a living. You have to be available when your clients are—this means late nights and long weekends. You have to know the market inside and out and understand all facets of a real estate transaction in order to best advise your clients in every situation.”

What is the biggest challenge facing your clients today?
“Real estate financing. The new lender guidelines have made it tougher for buyers to secure a home loan. I help my buyer clients overcome this challenge by getting them to meet with specific lenders prior to looking for a home. I help get them pre-approved, so we can focus on finding their dream home. As for my seller clients, I make sure that any lender the buyer is using is a well-known lender who has a successful track record of closing loans on time.”

What do your clients love about living in this area?
“The clean beaches, awesome year-round weather, top-rated schools, great restaurants and close proximity to LAX and downtown.”
