John Polen has held executive management positions in banking for more than 30 years, 10 of those as President and CEO of local community banks in the South Bay. John has an extensive background in real estate financing and accounting. Randall Hata’s career spans 25 years in community banking where he has specialized in accounting, finance and strategic planning. Debbie Richardson has more than 30 years in retail banking management, corporate development and community relations spending 21 years with a Palos Verdes based community bank. Eiji Yamanishi has more than 30 years experience in business banking and real estate finance primarily with South Bay based community banks.
What is your bank’s specialty?
“Our approach to business credit and real estate financing. We believe every person is unique, as is every loan request, and we focus on the specific goals of the client in order to find the right product. We make all of our decisions locally, one client at a time. We don’t try to fit them into a box, and we don’t like to say `no.’ Our goal is to build long-term relationships with our clients by offering creative solutions to help them attain their goals, and to earn their loyalty and trust.”
What is the biggest benefit that your clients gain from working with you?
“Personal attention. We are a client-centric bank—centered on service. Some clients want ‘high-touch,’ in-office banking where they can talk directly to their banker, and others prefer ‘high-tech,’ remote banking services. We can offer the same products and services as the big banks, but we place great value on knowing the local business environment and on understanding our clients’ unique challenges, banking style and routines. Today business people want to know their banker and feel confident that their business relationship is valued.”
How do you give back to your community?
“As local residents, we value the South Bay lifestyle and believe in supporting the community. This is realized through volunteer work and by devoting a portion of our profits to education, charitable organizations, the environment and the arts.”
