What is the history of your company?
“Established in 1991 Tomaro Design Group has been practicing for over 20 years, primarily focused throughout the South Bay as well as other projects in Idaho, Texas, Arizona, Italy and Costa Rica. In 1998, we established our building and construction division. We have evolved into a firm that is an in-house, full-service firm. We listen closely to our clients to give them what they want, so the result is the best possible high-end, high-quality project.”
What makes your company unique?
“Two qualities make our firm unique. First, we maintain a very high level of quality in every aspect of our firm. From the design process to the construction phase to the materials and finishes used, we maintain a level of architecture and building that defines us. While we work in a wide variety of styles and genres, we never deviate from our level of excellence. Second, having the architecture and building divisions together within one firm ensures the intent and quality are consistent throughout the project. We have a team of people with defined skill sets. Architects, builders, designers and office staff work as a team to create the most seamless projects for our clients.”
Describe your featured project.
“This is an 8,000-square-foot home on the Hermosa Strand that is really about lifestyle and entertaining. On the top floor, there is a large roof deck with a pool and stunning views of the ocean. A two-and-a-half story interior waterfall commands the stairwell. The home theatre, billiards room and bar area add to the luxurious lifestyle amenities. An extremely high level of craftsmanship is evident in every aspect of this house. Leyla Salmassian of Studio L and Associates handled the interior design.”
What’s on the horizon for your firm?
“After 20 years in business, we’ve learned what works, what’s good and what lasts. We want to work with inspiring clients and create interesting and unique projects. We recently began construction on a 7,000-square-foot Strand residence in which we are pushing the structural envelope with a large glass atrium segmented by suspended glass stairs and walkways. By introducing innovative design ideas we are constantly evolving and expanding our design portfolio. Ranging from modern, Mediterranean and traditional design we always strive for excellence in every project with the owner’s satisfaction as our number one priority.”
