How long have you been in the landscape industry?

“I’ve had over twenty years of experience in the landscape industry. While I’m based in the South Bay, my work has ranged from Pacific Palisades to Palos Verdes. In that capacity, I’ve worked on a number of different projects that range in design themes.”

What are the services your company offers?

“We offer landscape design, building, installation, and maintenance services. We listen to clients’ dreams, and then create the landscape for them.  We are able to build all of our landscaping features, so once the project is designed, we have an immediate transition into the installation. After completion of the project, we offer manicure and maintenance services.”

Describe the project you’ve featured.

“This was a true collaboration from the conception stage of the entire home. The architect and I worked with the client from the inception of the project. This allowed us to focus on both the architecture of the home, as well as how the home would be sited on the land and the owner’s experience with the outdoors. The client wanted to create a very peaceful, inviting outdoor space that felt tropical. We listened to their goals, and interpreted it into the design of the architecture and the land. The result is a seamless flow from home to nature that encompasses their lifestyle. The landscape installation took about two months once the hardscape design features of the pool and stone areas were installed. We were really excited that this project was featured in the 2012 Venice Garden & Home Tour, and it was one of the two landscaped homes featured on the cover.”

What do you see on the horizon for landscape architecture?

“I feel that the South Bay community is becoming more cognizant of the benefits of having an outdoor oriented lifestyle. More families are educating kids about the benefits of green living practices, and more families are spending time in outdoor living areas at their homes. The interaction between interior and outdoor living is becoming more pronounced and we’re seeing more fully integrated homes. I predict that we are going to see an increase in homeowners planning landscaping projects in conjunction with the architectural process.”
