400 S. Sepulveda, Ste. 100 in Manhattan Beach | 310-200-3037 | alisonisrealestate.com

Realtor Alison Clay-Duboff had an exciting journey leading up to her career in real estate. She worked in marketing and various entrepreneurial ventures when she lived abroad for many years—in Paris, Stockholm, the U.K., the French West Indies and Saudi Arabia. The excitement continues as she now owns Alison is Real Estate in Manhattan Beach, and she recently joined RE/MAX Execs Beach Cities. Alison specializes in properties throughout the South Bay and Palos Verdes—and even farther afield, when her clients want her services outside the local region. Her clients range from the first-time buyer at the entry level to high net worth individuals and investors.

Tell us about your team.
“My team is the backbone of my business—from lenders and home inspectors to title, escrow, termite and all elements in between.”

What’s one trend that is defining the real estate industry today?
“The distressed market has impacted the industry, defining new legislation and impacting our individual markets. Investors are out in force, taking advantage of opportunities. Knowledge is crucial.”

In what ways do you provide top-notch customer service?
“It’s crucial to have a clear understanding of my client’s goals. Sometimes they need help defining their goals and vision, so an advisory role is important as well as being their real estate resource. If there is a crisis, I have the ability to remain calm, in control and get the results needed to extinguish the problem and move on. I’m also old-fashioned in that I prefer to present my offers in person. I’m not afraid to put myself out there, do what it takes to get the job done to make their transactions work. After a successful close, I enjoy thanking my clients from my heart and sharing in their joy.”

What is the biggest challenge facing your clients today?
“Inventory of late has been very tight. I focus on networking and finding a selection of off-market properties for my buyers. For my sellers, it’s educating them on the market, the values and the psychology of the buyer.”
