08/08/12Shake Rattle & Roll!Earthquakes. The small shakers like last night’s 4.4 magnitude I actually enjoy. For me, there has never been a yoga class or any other conscious attempt of mine to “be present” that can clear all of the mind chatter out of my head like a Southern California earthquake. There is a sense of awe that comes with the ground shaking beneath my bones as windows rattle, wood structures creak and my dogs’ stand at attention with tilted heads. Suddenly, my world seems very small, as my awareness of a much greater power, God for me, is absolutely undeniable. Admittedly as I bask in the ominous force of them, there is a “what if” quiet fear in the back of my mind. But, when the earth stops moving and the dogs are at rest... |



Cowboy boots, dressage boots, work boots, hiking boots, ski boots and fashion boots. An unshakable passion for boots and the earth loving, adventurous lifestyle that keeps mine dusty most of the time began with childhood. Horses, dogs, nature, the arts, and my family’s construction business shaped my life. Today, living on the glorious Palos Verdes Peninsula, my boot prints are bigger, my interior design projects have replaced Dad’s building sites and new dogs and horses soften the ways of the world.
