Details is a contemporary women’s boutique featuring unique handbags, shoes and accessories. Prior to moving to Hermosa Beach in January 1997, owner Tiffany M. Soporito worked in retail sales, tended bar and managed a popular restaurant. When she arrived on the west coast, she worked for five years at Café Boogaloo and as the regional sales manager at Kenneth Cole for 12 years, working with department stores, ecommerce and boutiques. She took a two-year hiatus after the birth of her son and then returned to sales. At that point she realized that, as much as she loved traveling and sales, she missed her family more. And Details boutique was born this year in March.

How/when did you move to this area?

“In 1996, my then boyfriend and I made a trip from our hometown, Rochester, NY, to look into a potential move to California. When we saw Hermosa Beach, we knew that this was the place. Six months later we quit our jobs, packed up two cars and headed west. We have been in Hermosa ever since (and he’s now my husband!) We are the proud parents of Cash, our 3½-year-old son. Our relatives are still back east, with the exception of my younger brother who happily followed us out here seven years ago.”

Who is your target client?

“I have something for every woman in my store−a wide range of price points and styles to suit every budget and all needs.”

What’s most rewarding about your work?

“The sense of community and meeting new people every day has been the best part of it. It’s amazing to be able to work and live in such a great place.”
