Representing three generations of jewelers since 1946, Morgan’s Jewelers has two retail stores, which carry fine designer jewelry and watch brands as well as the company’s own custom designs. The jewelry store also offers appraisal services, estate buying and liquidation, and onsite watch and jewelry repair. Both locations are staffed with G.I.A. graduates and are A.G.S. certified jewelers and laboratories. Granddaughter of the company’s founder and current director of marketing, Melissa Varon Weinberg worked in the fashion industry, operated a toy company and worked on an MTV animated series before joining the family business in 2004. “I always knew that I wanted to work with my family in this exciting industry,” shares the South Bay native. “I just had to get the proper amount of outside experience before joining them. I really felt that the two generations before me had worked so hard to create these relationships and build this company, and that is not something that I could just walk away from.”
What would you like potential clients to know about you?
“We are hyper-focused on giving our clients the perfect experience, from making them feel like family while in the store to guaranteeing them the quality and craftsmanship that they deserve when purchasing fine jewelry and timepieces.”
What’s most rewarding about your work?
“We make people happy, really happy! It is very rewarding to be a part of such special moments in others’ lives and to help them with important decisions. The relationships that we develop with our clients are priceless.”
How do you give back to your community?
“I was brought up in a very philanthropic environment. We support many local charities, and I am a member of the Sandpipers organization. I’m also a founding member of the West Clover Nook Society, a group of close friends who each have the opportunity to bring to the table charities that we are passionate about. Together we throw events and activities to raise awareness and funds.”
What does the future hold for your company?
“Growth, internally and externally. We would love to add another location to the Morgan’s map. We are currently focusing on the internet and growing our business there.”
