The Green Yogi is an eco-chic power yoga studio designed to inspire quality yoga and conscious living. Classes are offered at all levels to make yoga accessible to men and women of all ages and fitness levels. Founder Mary Strong started The Green Yogi in 2009, and she teaches yoga there three times a week. She also anchors live news coverage on NFL Network. Mary has excelled in a career in television journalism, working for NBC, CNN and Fox Sports Net and played professional beach volleyball on the AVP Tour.
How did you decide to open a yoga studio?
“There came a point in my broadcasting career when I wanted something new. I had a dream about a beautiful yoga studio. When I woke up, I knew that’s what was next. I never realized that I could turn my passion into a lucrative career.”
What would you like potential clients to know about your business?
“A lot of people tell me The Green Yogi is a magical place, and that every time they walk in the space they feel like they are walking into a sanctuary where they can totally relax in a fun, nurturing, non-judgmental environment. That’s exactly what I had in mind when I created the space.”
What is your mission?
“Our goal every day is to teach great classes, make sure the environment is clean and inviting and treat everyone who walks through our doors with the utmost care and respect. Because we are a smaller, boutique studio, we can pay attention to those details.”
