Aqua Salon is a full-service, boutique-style salon offering hair and skin services with an ocean view and a relaxing atmosphere. Owner and stylist/colorist Kathy Snyder, a Manhattan Beach resident for more than 20 years, takes pride in maintaining a busy and professional shop with the principle goal of making others look fabulous. Snyder worked with world-renowned Cristophe at Christophe Salon in Beverly Hills for 10 years. She trained and worked with some of the most highly talented stylists/colorists in the industry. The staff of Aqua includes eight stylists, a makeup artist/eyebrow specialist and a salon manager.

What do you like best about your job?

“I like the challenge of satisfying a client’s requests. So many of us are particular about exactly what we want our hair to look like but haven’t any idea how to articulate it to someone. It’s my job as well as that of the other stylists to `get it’ when a customer reaches out for help and to deliver a service that is intuitive and creative.”

What will people like about Aqua Salon?

“There is nothing uptight or tense about an appointment at Aqua. Everyone is personable and the vibe is very relaxed. We want the client to feel like their getting away from it all while enjoying the experience. We make sure each client leaves with a smile on their face and an excellent hairstyle that most suits them.

What words do you want people to associate with your business?

“Enthusiasm, creativity and comfort. I want people to know they will be working with stylists who are enthusiastic, highly talented and love their job. They will be exposed to professionals who are devotees to hair and fashioning looks that are creative and appealing. They are in an atmosphere where they’ll enjoy with people who are as comfortable at work as they are in their outside lives.”
