Rockit Body Pilates™ is a full-body, unique workout—a fusion of Pilates, cardio and strength training. The first of its kind in the South Bay, RockIt Body offers a variety of 50-minute classes set to fun, high-energy music. Owner Judie Aronson is an actor with leading roles in popular 80s movies such as Weird Science and Friday the 13th IV, as well as several top TV shows like Beverly Hills 90210 and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. During preparation for an audition that required wearing a bikini, she came across a workout (now served up at RockIt Body) and was hooked! Judie opened her Manhattan Beach studio in 2009 and the Redondo Beach studio in 2010. A celebrity workout fave, RockIt Body was featured on TV Guide Network’s Secrets of the Hollywood Body. Southbay magazine readers voted RockIt Body Pilates™ as having the “Best Workout” and the “Best Personal Training” in 2011.
Tell us about your exercise classes.
“In addition to our signature class, we have Rockit Barre™, a dance-infused cardio workout using barre and free weights for stretching, toning, and lengthening. Our Rockit Recess™ is a crazy fun, but difficult, high-cardio bootcamp.”
What would you like potential clients to know about you?
“If you don’t like working out, you’re not alone. I hated the idea of going to the gym to get in shape. This was the first workout I’ve done that I became seriously addicted to and wasn’t clock-watching.”
What’s most rewarding about your work?
“My clients vary so greatly−some can't go a day without working out, some take classes to relieve stress, and I have new moms who want to get back in pre-baby shape. But they all have a common goal: to be healthier individuals. I get to see people of all walks of life being healthy every day and challenging themselves.”
How do you give back to your community?
“We’re so fortunate to be welcomed by the South Bay, and I love giving back to the community that has encouraged our growth. I will often donate Pilates parties and other services to their charities, foundations and school auctions.”
