Licensed medical aesthetician Penny Johnson has taken an active role in helping Dr. James O’Connell develop the skincare program at his dermatology practice. A graduate of Career Academy of Beauty in Southern California, Penny is trained in HydraFacial, microdermabrasion, medical peels, oxygen treatments, exothermic masks and body treatments. She offers a personalized and professional approach to improving skin health. “Educating my clients on how to care for their skin is very important to me,” says Penny. “I am dedicated to my clients achieving visible results from our treatments and products.”

How do you educate your clients to take good care of themselves?

“I offer complimentary, one-on-one skin consultations. Twice a year, we host a wonderful Spa Day event, offering free treatments and information with skincare professionals at our office. Our next Spring Spa Day is May 2-3 from 9am to 7pm. I welcome interested people to call us for a reservation and come join the fun!”

What is the biggest benefit that your clients gain from seeing you for their health and beauty needs?

“The primary benefit clients will see is quicker and longer-lasting results, because the treatments and products we use contain pharmaceutical-grade ingredients that deliver much more effective results.”

How do you stay on top of the latest trends and advances in your field?

“I regularly attend continuing education courses and international trade shows in the health and beauty industry.”

How do you give back to your community?

“Our company is a corporate sponsor for the Beauty Bus Foundation, bringing beauty services to patients confined to their homes with MS and cancer in the South Bay. We also participate in numerous charity events in the Beach Cities and the Peninsula, including P.V. Art Center, The Norris Center, The Skin Cancer Foundation and The Miss California Pageant.”

What are some of the treatments and products you offer?

“I specialize in HydraFacial, microdermabrasion, oxygen therapy, peels, dermaplaning, high-tech facials, body treatments, waxing and more. We have specially-formulated skincare products developed exclusively for O’Connell Dermatology. These pharmaceutical-grade products are customized for individual skincare needs.”
