The office of Dr. Linda Swanson offers services in plastic surgery and skin care to improve the appearance of the face, breasts, body and extremities. “We pride ourselves in delivering personalized care to help patients achieve their aesthetic goals,” says Dr. Swanson, who has worked in the field of skincare and plastic surgery since 1986. How does the plastic surgeon maintain her own health and beauty? “I watch what I eat and exercise every day,” she says. “My skin care products of choice are Obagi.” Dr. Swanson, who received her medical degree from Stanford University, is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. She began her practice in California in 1990.
Why did you choose this career?
“I began working in plastic surgery because I was interested in restoring and enhancing the form and function of the face and body. Initially, I did many aspects of plastic surgery, including trauma, reconstruction, hand surgery, burns and clefts, but over the course of time, I became more focused on cosmetic plastic surgery.”
What’s most rewarding about your work?
“Having patients tell me how much happier they are every day when they look in the mirror; they are thrilled when they fit into their clothes with a more pleasing figure. Looking better improves their confidence and their entire sense of well-being.”
Do you offer a signature service?
“SmartLipo—laser-assisted liposuction. This is done under a local anesthetic in the office with very little down time and with superior results. I rarely do traditional lipo now, since SmartLipo works so well and patients just love it. For skincare patients, having the HydraFacial before a special night out makes their skin feel and look radiant. Yoli Carr and Melissa Palma, my medical aestheticians, also do several signature medical peels for patients with problematic skin.”
What is unique about your style and technique?
“Our office endeavors to make each patient feel comfortable and certain of our complete attention to every detail of their care. This begins with the consultation and continues through each visit. Many patients continue to return for skin care and other non-surgical enhancements.”
How do you educate your clients to take good care of themselves?
“I have a wonderful office manager, Debra Clark, and staff that helps me to do that. I work hand-in-hand with my office manager and aestheticians to ensure that my patients will look their best.”
