What’s most rewarding about your work?
“On a daily basis, I get to work with a talented and passionate team that strives to help our guests feel better about who they are inside and out. That can range from whether they want a new hairstyle, assistance with relaxation, advice on muscular ailments, glowing skin, a moment to meditate or buying a pair of shoes that benefit charity. What’s not to love about what I do?”
How do you educate your clients to take good care of themselves?
“I do so by first asking guests to trust our expertise. Secondly, I encourage guests to ask questions and honestly share what ails them. We don’t judge; we listen intently. We feel the problem and do as much as we can to heal at that moment, and then we advise of what we felt. We ask how they feel and leave them with knowledge of skin care, maintenance of body mechanics and tips to breathe deeper and take time for themselves daily.”
How do you maintain your own health and beauty?
“It’s a constant struggle and a work in progress. With a busy schedule, I identify with the challenges our guests face daily. It’s a matter of learning to take time for yourself and sometimes having to put yourself first. I consistently cleanse, tone, moisturize and apply sunscreen daily. With age, I’ve added in some serums, clay masks and hydrating gels. I also try to get a massage monthly—away from the resort—to keep a fresh eye for detail and experience unique techniques and modalities.”
